We’re so excited that you’ve chosen to play Polymath with your classroom!
Polymath has three main game modes — Vs. Teacher and Timed quiz are both game modes that you can play with your class. Student Islands is a mode that allows your students to play Polymath independently, either in a classroom setting or at home.
Here a little bit about what to expect and when to play them!
In Polymath there are two islands your students can play in:
The classroom island supports the Polymath games you can play with your class; Vs. Teacher and Timed Quiz

The student islands support students playing independently
Students with access to both of these will be asked which one they’d like to visit when they log in. You can call them back to the classroom island for a classroom game at any point in time. You can also turn off their access to their student island during class games to keep them on task (read more about optimising your settings here).
In Vs. Teacher you’re in a race against your class to (accurately) complete as many maths questions as possible. Vs. teacher takes place on your classroom island, and is a competitive timed classroom activity pitching you against your students.
